new online experience

I am very excited about my online class that I am teaching and the one that I am taking.  I really didn't know that I could send email  to my students.  I now plan on having my studens post common questions that they may have about certain concepts.  This is giving me more opportunity to observe the learning process, both seeing it in others and in me.

  1. E-learning: Friend or Foe

In reading the links that are presented through cake, I was really impressed by the video that discussed digital natives versus digital immigrants. We are working with a group of digital natives. I took a 1 day class where I learned more about how to use my IPad. The next day, I mentioned the different techniques that I had learned in class. One of my students, digital native, knew how to do all the techniques that I, digital immigrant, had learned in class.
ELearning is a big fish, but like all fish there are bones that we must avoid.
    Benefits
    1. ELearning engages students because it is similar to the electronics that they use during their leisure time
    2. ELearning will cut down on paperwork. Students will be able to get more “face time” with the teacher.

    Barriers
Biggest barrier is the financial and security aspect of ELearning. Many schools are dealing with limited Bandwidth
